Pre-Watermelon Belly

Here is the goodbye shot...to the pre-prego belly. Not so sad when you think about the craziness of an actual LIFE growing in there...and not just too much chocolate cake! This was me at 7 weeks.

Week 8: Not much change is happening. Matthew wants to take these side shots in the same clothes each week to create a "mini film" of the growing belly. But don't worry, once some REAL growth starts happening, I'll add the more creative ones that show some skin later on...he, he.

Week 9: Still not much happening, but I'm definately feeling the "bloation" kicking in, which you probably can't see but the lower belly is starting to cause a problem for zipping up the ol' work pants. One day I can't fit, then the next I'm back to normal?! Guess that's how these first few ebb and flow weeks are.

Well, my belly still isn't growing much but something ELSE sure is...ha, ha...or don't I wish! Sadly, no, they're not that big, but we felt like these pictures were getting boring...but check out the growth in the next shot...

Whew! I just BLEW up overnight!! Yeh, I doubt that's what it'll look like either...the "stuffing" came out looking more like a potbelly than a pregnant belly. I think we've got another 5-7 weeks before we see anything near basketball on me. As you can tell from the next shot...

This was 11 weeks, still flat as a board unfortunately. I'm getting anxious to SEE the results of this baby's presence but different body types pop at different times. Mine will probably be a stubborn one my widwife says. Although now at almost 14 weeks I AM noticing my lower belly hardening and pushing itself out as the uterus grows to the size of a small melon. You can feel it! It's crazy!! We're going to try to take another shot soon just to keep documenting even the small changes. Sorry for the delay in getting these out!

Changes are finally happening...slowly but surely. This is me at 15 weeks. The pooch is just starting to show. My midwife says by the end of March, the whole thing will be pretty noticeable (that would be 20 weeks - 5 months). So for now, I'm still enjoying being able to sleep on my stomach, go on my usual runs during the week, fit in my normal clothes, and still be free of strangers rubbing my belly!

Well finally...here is the 20 week shot. And boy, do I look excited or what?! I dunno why I look so somber...maybe it's hoping I would have a super cool prego belly by now or something...ha, ha. Instead of just this little roll. It's the long torso, my midwife says, that's keeping this baby growing up instead of out. But he'll have to start moving out one of these days! At 8 inches long and almost a pound, there's not much more room for him to go up-wise!

22 weeks! He's seriously trying to push out now! I can finally tell the difference in my normal clothes. It's nice to have the reality be visually evident now :0)

Here are the two latest at 24 1/2 weeks. I've got to get the "girl in black" shot up too because you can TOTALLY tell the difference with that shot. We were looking at the one of me at 9 weeks and that one and it was crazy! Enjoy these for now though. The first two strangers noticed I was pregnant a few days ago and that made me happy. Our fed-ex man and our landlord...ha, ha. It's fun to actually begin to look prego now in my 6th month.

Thar' he grows...at 27 weeks! We're getting into the "final" stretch of months.

29 weeks and still growing. Cooking has become humorous with this new addition. I forget it's sticking out and have already burnt my belly on a hot skillet handle :0)
32 weeks and all baby. Just a little under 8 weeks to go!
